Down by Voksi

Birds, and especially their chicks, are sung about in several classic Scandinavian children songs. All birds were once small chicks, vulnerable and curious, with a protective layer of down to keep them warm and dry. The growing feathers protect the down like an outer shell. We use 90 % down and 10 % feather in our products instead of the more common and cheaper 70 % and 30 % mixture. Everyone who has ever looked into a bird’s nest knows that it is built layer by layer to isolate the chicks. Without this isolation the chick’s down becomes ineffective, therefore we have chosen to surround the down with materials fitted to protect the down that keeps your baby happy.

Wool by Voksi

Sheep have accompanied humans since time began and have faithfully supplied us with wool for our clothes and household needs. Here in Scandinavia, wool has kept us warm in the winter and cool in the summer since the Stone Ages. One of the wool’s most useful properties is the ventilation it provides its users with. Wearing woollen garments, we are always comfortably warm – be it in a winter landscape or a summer meadow.

Silk by Voksi

It has been more than 4500 years since the Chinese learned to spin silk thread and weave a material softer than anything else since then. Subsequently, the art of handling and using the unique properties of the delicate threads has been perfected. In Voksis products, strands of silk are used for padding. Silk breathes and wicks away moisture at the same time as it warms and is hypoallergenic. Combined, these properties make silk a better material than any other for keeping your baby happy and contented in its baby bag. We use the finest Mulberry silk in our products.

Comfort by Voksi

For as long as can be remembered, people of Scandinavia have developed the finest handicrafts based on the best materials nature has to offer to make clothing and accessories for children. Winters were often harsh which meant the warmest materials available were used. Sheep have proven the most reliable source of these raw materials. Warm wool and soft lambskin worked in line with Scandinavian handicraft traditions result in beautiful garments that warm in even the most bitter cold.
