OEKO-TEX® certification

At Voksi®, it’s important to us that you have confidence in our products, so we want to be clear with you about the steps we are taking to ensure our products are made of the softest and healthiest materials possible. Hopefully this will make it easier for you to make the right choices for your family.

We don’t just claim to make safe products, and we don’t want you to simply take our word for our production methods. We know that our customers care enough about their families and the environment to find these things out for themselves. To help give you that assurance, all of our products proudly wear the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® Class I label to show you that Voksi® products are independently certified as safe, made without harmful chemicals.

What is STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®?

Oeko-Tex® is a worldwide association of independent research and testing institutes for product safety and sustainable production in the textile industry. Oeko-Tex® was introduced in 1992 and is used for testing and certification of textile products.

Textile products are awarded the STANDARD 100 Certification if, on the basis of the extensive OEKO-TEX® criteria catalogue, they have been successfully tested by one of the OEKO-TEX® partner institutes for chemicals that pose a health risk, and therefore contribute to an effective consumer protection.

This means that for a product to be certified and allowed to carry the STANDARD 100, each and every component is tested: From zippers and buttons to linings and sewing thread.

The certification system is in many cases more comprehensive and strict than required by national and international standards. So Oeko-Tex® is aiming to be one step ahead. The criteria change consecutively according to new results within medical science. The limit values are updated each year.

A certification is valid for 12 months, and the International Oeko-Tex® Association control tests each year, at least 25% of all issued certificates by performing sampling. Oeko-Tex® also controls the product once a year in collaboration with the product owner to make sure it still fulfils the requirements.

What does “Class I” mean?

“Class I” is a product class under the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® umbrella. “Product Class I” is for babies and toddlers, and therefore the class Voksi® certified products belong to.

Babies’ sensitive skin requires special protection. “Product Class I” is the strictest of all four classes in the OEKO-TEX® certification process, testing products for children up to the age of three for harmful substances. The additional requirement for saliva-resistance means that colours and prints should not bleed or stain when babies suck on them.

The three other classes are:

Product class II: Articles with direct contact to the skin
Product class III: Articles without direct contact to the skin
Product class IV: Home textiles

So when preparing your home for your new baby, you can buy chemical-free products in everything from room décor and bedding to nappies and clothing.

Why choose Oeko-Tex® products?

  • Products certified with OEKO-TEX® do not contain any toxic or allergic substances.
  • You can use the products immediately, without having to wash them.
  • OEKO-TEX® products are environmentally friendly
  • OEKO-TEX® pay close attention to development within legislation, science and organizations and act quickly according to the total amount of information. It is less likely to be harmful substances in a certified OEKO-TEX® product compared to others.
